There's a hiker tradition to eat a half gallon of ice cream at the half way point on the trail at the General Store in the park. Despite it being only 11am, Matthew and I went for it. Since they don't sell half gallons anymore, you eat a 3 pint and a 1 pint container to get there. Matthew started with Cookie Dough and finished with Moose Tracks, while I went with Chocolate for both. It is an obscene amount of ice cream, but it was embarrassingly easy to get through it. Matthew killed me on the calorie count though. His was 3120 and mine was a paltry 2240 calories.

I don't know you guys, but have enjoyed following your trip up the trail. I hope to make the same trip in a few years, so have been following different hikers this year, as they blog their way north. Congratulations on making it half-way! Thank you for sharing the trail traditions and interesting spots. They are helping me plan my trip! God speed and safety to you on your second half.
